In today’s busy practice, physicians may overlook the long term impact that their documentation and record keeping practices have on later court or agency actions. This presentation covers some areas of concern and simple ways for physicians to protect themselves on the front end in the event of a later malpractice or administrative case. Areas to be covered include patient consents, patient termination, requirements for telehealth patients, and best documentation practices. We will also discuss responding to an administrative agency complaint.
