In this session Mr. Wolfe will discuss national physician compensation trends, including enforcement focused on the “Big 3” contracting standards of fair market value, commercial reasonableness, and the prohibition on paying for referrals. He will discuss the wave of value-based enterprise (“VBE”) models that are being entered into nationwide and across the State of Florida. VBEs are designed to incentivize coordination and management of care, improved quality of care, cost reductions to payors and the transitioning of health care delivery and payment from volume towards value. VBEs can also be a tool to mitigate compliance risk for innovative arrangements.
