This presentation will focus on advising clients and their families on what to expect (and what to look out for) when moving to a senior living facility. Resident rights will be examined in this context, such as issues surrounding visitors, care, communication, record-keeping and access to records, and source of payment, including both the use of long-term care insurance and government benefits. Admissions contracts, including traps for the unwary and current CMS guidelines as to the proper provisions of admissions contracts, will be explored.
